The Waitati Music and Arts Festival is organised by a crew of volunteers who willingly give their time and expertise with the aim of creating a fabulous event for our community to enjoy. Our Kaupapa is that we wish to create a friendly, quality music and arts festival promoting the alternative & underground music scene, that is affordable for all.
In 2022 we received a Certificate of Appreciation for Volunteer Service to the Dunedin | Ōtepoti Community
Zero waste target
We are aiming for ZERO WASTE! In 2020 the Waitati Music Festival made an effort to eliminate single use plastic during festival set up (e.g. no cable ties) and used recycled materials whenever possible (e.g kidzone crafts).
We diverted >80% of the waste from landfill and we won the Taylor Pride Shield community award from Keep Dunedin Beautiful.
Waste reduction services at the 2022 event were provided by RES AWESOME.
